The People's Theatre is the leading non-professional theatre company in the North of England and one of the largest and oldest established in the country.

It has high production values and it's always worth checking out what's on here with up to fourteen productions a year, a 500-seat main auditorium and a smaller Studio Theatre.

Public transport is by bus, but as it is on a main route out of Newcastle they are frequent.

The theatre has a vast costume department and items can be hired by the public.
