International:
Newcastle's international ferry terminal is situated in North Shields - 8 miles from the city centre.
International Passenger Terminal, Royal Quays, North Shields NE29 6EE
There is a daily direct vehicle and passenger ferry service to Amsterdam (Ijmuiden) operated by DFDS Seaways.
A dedicated bus service to Newcastle Central Station is timetabled to connect with the daily morning arrival and evening sailing.
Cruise liners also call in to Newcastle at a neighbouring terminal.

Cross Tyne:
A local foot passenger-only ferry connects North & South Shields. It has its own dedicated landing quays. It is part of the Metro fare zone system, but there is a 10 minute walk to the nearest stations at either end.
